H2G2 Literary Society

Welcome to the H2G2 Literary Society. A small structure specifically designed to help you find an author to your taste, to find out more about an author that you already like, to promote world unity and the consumption of doughnuts, and to act as a definitive excuse for reading too much.

Here you will find a collection of entries from H2G2 on or relating to artists who have chosen as their medium of expression the written word. In a few circumstances we have included entries on musical artists, but only when these artists were as well-known for the songs they wrote as for the manner in which they performed them. Oliver began the project, but has since quit using the Internet altogether. Gavroche, is currently leading the effort, and trying to recruit more assistance.

Find a soft, comfortable chair to sit down in. Make sure you know where your towel is. And browse around. If you have written, or write a guide entry in the future that pertains to the Literary universe, please drop us a line. We'll add you to the list. If you spot any mistakes, please let us know this as well. We'll quickly find a scapegoat to pass the buck to (e.g. I must have downed too many glasses of Pussers the night I typed that...) But we will fix the mistake.

If you would like to write a guide entry on an author, but are having difficulty deciding, you can visit our list of Recommendations below.

Finally: Praise, criticism, suggestions, queries on where to send gifts of appreciation -- all of this is welcome. Without further ado...

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
