yes but the really great way to survive being dumped by the vogon's into a long stay is to pay your tour company the few pounds to get into one of the airport lounges.
At terminal 1 there are some good ones and you can while away hours watching TV, free drinks (yes wine, beer ,etc) and snacks. Never tried to sleep in there but....
Better than the crowded parts of the terminal.
