Hillaire Belloc wrote a poem about the yak. It begins:

As a friend to the children, commend me the yak.
You will find it exactly the thing.
It can carry and fetch, you can ride on its back,
Or lead it about on a string.

Or something like that - I'm going from memory. There is more, but I can't bring it to mind. If you're interested you can find the poem in 'Cautionary Verses' which is an anthology of Hillaire Belloc's verses for children. It's all absolute nonsense, but great fun!
