Very accurate information redarging exchange students...I went on Exchange for 6 months and spent a lot of my time with other English-speaking people (totally baffling everyone who I was meant to be friends with).

I was in Belgium, just doing normal school (Speaking French). I went into Brussels a fair bit and there were HEAPS of exchange students there. We also did quite a few activities with the organisation....so everyone there spoke English too!

Are you planning to go on exchange somewhere? If you are - DO IT!!! It is the absolutely BEST THING in the WHOLE WORLD!!!

You missed one important good point about Exchange students; they are excellent for the lazy xenophile like my self who really can't be bothered with all this travelling and back-packing stuff

I was a lazy exchange student and I didn't get to do as much as I could've...now I want to go back and do it ALL!!

In my experience not all exchange students are the same. Take for example students from Japan who come to the UK. They tend to be extremely busy people, always on the go. But the UK students they work alongside are lazy, and generally apathetic. Is Britain just deep down lazy?
