Another catch phrase was, "Thank you very much" which seemed to come out as "Thak you very much" and sometimes followed an eventually successful trick.
I loved his manner of saying something and then stopping dead, blinking a couple of times and frowning very slightly as if trying to run back through the nonsense he had just spouted in his head. He was also one of the few comedians who could get away with laughing at his own jokes.

In Tommy Cooper's voice: "Police arrested two boys one had been drinking battery acid and the other one had been eating fireworks.
They charged one and let the other off".
