Battle of Hatfield

Battle of Hatfield was in Nottinghamshire near Cuckney, the historian who wrote it was at Hatfield Chase also changed his mind later to Notts.

There was a small Chancel chapel near the site and Edwinstowe is named after the place where his body lay (as in holy place off Edwin). There were several hundred bodies found under the church at Cuckney when it was being protected against mining subsidence in the 1950's although these were never dated and may have something to do with the 'illegal' castle dating to the times of Stephen and Matilda

hope this clears this bit of history up
