What about Captain Snort who was in charge of Trumpton Fort.
And how could you forget
Time flys by when you're the driver of a train,
Standing on the footplate there and back again,
Over bridges under bridges to our destination,
Whoops I can't remember the next line.

Found it.
Puffing through the countryside there's so much to be seen.
Passengers waving as we steam through a station.
Stoke up fireman for the signal is at green.
Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train
And I ride on the footplate there and back again
In the cutting, through the tunnel,
Rushing clanking on the track.
Wheezing pistons, smoking funnels,
Turning wheels go clickety clack.
Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train
And I ride on the footplate there and back again.
Found this plus loads more on a great site The Trumptonshire Web http://www.eh.org/evans/trumpgo.htm

My sister came up with a surreal line:
"Passengers steaming as we wave through the station"
Conjures up images of a mean train driver who won't stop..
