A lovely article -- I wish that all physicists had such a light, self-deprecating touch.

I remember reading long ago that physicists are quite likely to be musically talented (it stuck in my memory because my partner is a musical physicist). I'm sure that tells us something fundamental about physicists and their unending quest for a harmonious theory....

Yeah, some physicists (like mathematicians) are good musicians. Don't know why. I'm not. I can do music. I got a D in A-level physics smiley - blue
