I FOUND IT!!!
It took me aaaaaaaaaaaaaages (but really, I suppose I should've guessed) and it was largely due to your help 
Oh wow, I was just about to give up and everything. 
Um, so I have to write a clue, right?

As many as these clues (so far): dictated by nature, but not the courts. Our name: not ancient, but heavy.
