Camera obscura camera

In 1992 I worked with set builders on the installation of Houston's FotoFest exhibit. We built a camera obscura which looked like a very large 35mm camera. Rather than have the image projected on the back wall however we used a bit of rear projection of sorts and projected it through a 30" by 40" piece of thin tracing paper and the viewers walked through the camera behind that. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough light in the convention centre to see the image as easily as we would have wanted. I think the lens we used, while quite large, didn't have a large enough aperture for this purpose. It still looked good, but could have been better.
We also set up a strobe as a flash. Not a photo strobe mind you, but the same type that lit many a teen's bedroom in the 70's. It worked mostly as decoration.
