A small point for those who like a choice of Scottish Beers
Since the takeover of McEwans and Youngers breweries by S&N (Scottish and Newcastle, not Sado-Nasochism!)
They have "rationalised" production, so:
A pint of Youngers Scotch Bitter south of the border is actually the same beer as McEwans 70/- north of the border
Also
A pint of Youngers IPA is the same drink as McEwans 80/-
A good trick for barmen is to plug two beer engines into the same barrel, mark one Youngers Scotch and the other McEwans 70/- and wait for the comments.
