This stuff is LETHAL.Its a guaranteed trip to hospital, fight with the girlfriend, puke all over everything kind of drink.Its seems to be really strong.I've seen many a poor fool guzzle this stuff with nasty results.Orkney Dark Island=bottle of whisky.

Are you sure you are not confusing this with Skullsplitter now? That will cause major land wars. Dark Island, on the other hand, is a very pleasent beer, very enjoyable down the pub after work.

I'd like to take the middle ground here - I'd say Dark Island can be pretty bad for you, because you tend to get the taste for it and not realise you're on your eighth pint until it's too late. However it's not all that vicious. Basically, it's just too tasty.

Agreed. While it is undeniably too strong for a prolonged sesh,no-one should deny themselves the experience of a couple of pints of the "liquid liquorice"(with strict forebearance thereafter!)

Perhaps there should be a leauge table on H2G2 of 'conversations with the longest gap between postings' in fact i may just start such a thread myself... or maybe not.

For what it's worth, i lurve the taste of dark isle, and while i acknowledge that it is a tad strong, i've never really had too many probs with it.
