I think I preferred it with the footnotes as those parts are not directly relevant to the story of Sadako but are pieces of historical detail.

I still like it, it's a very good story and a nice piece of writing.

The footnotes were moved into the main text and that is about all the editing. If there was any typo or grammar editing, I haven't noticed.

A great article. Isn't it so much better when an article tells a story, they are a lot more interesting to read than a purely factual one.

Anne Frank was all fact, but it is still an inspiring story
