it seems that there is evidence of bath being blessed eternally for it has been historically famous for more than centuies and still buzzing with activity

Hmm, yes. Blessed with chronic traffic congestion, comical house prices and an archaic class system 
.
Seriously though, I suspect the same is true of many historic cities - look at Paris, Rome, Prague, Athens etc.
