they apparentlysnuck this one through when i wasn't watching Peer review.
In 1962 the Boy Scouts had a campground about ten miles from there and we went by canue to Hell. the Pond there was created by a hydro-electric dam and we said we went to hell to see the dam site.
There is a third version of how the town got it's name and that is some students from the University of Michigan suggested the name
and the local residents thought why not. We will get lots of folk coming to investigate and spending money in our gift shop.
Also the pond made by that dam is packed with cottages who get their mail in the Hell post office.
