A Conversation for Joan of Arc - Maid of Orleans

Rather a waste of good Joan

Post 1

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!"

To the end, she remained sure of her faith and her 'voices', and confident that her suffering would be rewarded after death. Let's hope so; she was certainly misused by the representatives of earthly power. However strong one's faith in the supernatural may be, it's hard to overcome the notion that the world would have been richer with Joan in it for a few more years, and that burning such a remarkable young woman was rather a tragic waste.

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?)

Actuall, this article moved me. I'm seldom moved by tales of martyrs as many of them are simply frauds to make some old heathen god look like a christian saint, but the story of Joan d'Arc... well, it moved me.

In the future, lets try not to kill such splendid people.
