Thanks GB. The graveyard is only about 5 miles from my home. It was a visit to this place that prompted me to write the entry.

One thing that may be added is that Cobh was originally named Cove then the Queen stopped off and gave permission for it to be named Queenstown then because the irish wanted to eradicate anglicised names the place changed back to cove except for the 'bh' was put in place of the 've'.

Yes - the word "Cobh" is a bit of a mouthful for tourists and an oddity too. It's a Irishised English word as you say (it's usually the other way around here), and it's frequently mispronounced - "Cob-huh" was how one person put it. I'm glad you liked the entry - my main source of information, Diana Preston's "Wilful Murder", is a terrific read.
