Has its roots in the all nighters that went on at Wigan Pier. I presume they were in the 70's cos my dad's always banging on about them (and the hobnail boots he used to wear when he went).

The Northern Soul Allnighters did not happen at the Pier, but rather at the Casino on Station Road, opposite the ABC cinema.
