Interesting point - if douglas adams started the guide - there cannot of been any other researchers - as such his entries cannot have passed peer review therefore his entries under normal h2g2 rules should be deleted.
Solution
Douglas Adams is a demi-god and as such his points are naturally assumed to have been agreed with by all .
Question - has anyone found atypo in his message?

Entries aren't deleted because they didn't go through PR. In the 'olden' days uni projects completely missed PR, and I've got at least two pre-PR entries that were accepted by the Eds without anyone else having a look in. Also my two uni projects were pre-PR too.

Very occasionally entries that are nonsense are demoted, but never deleted. Even bad entries are just marked for needing an update.

ahhh, how many people did h2g2 have before the new stuff came in, PR, being linked to the bbc etc?

There have been numerous attempts to count active users over the years, but I couldn't even begin to think about where to look for them. Official stats were never divulged.

hmm it would be good to know how many h2g2 users have say posted within the last 2 months.
Also why are the h2g2 editors called italics?

Because their names are in italics.
