Andrew Morton wrote "Diana: Her True Story", not "Princess in Love", which was written by Anna Pasternak. It does appear to be Morton's book which is meant here, however.

Also, the first mention of the flag over Buckingham Palace seems confused - perhaps it should have said that the standard is only lowered when the monarch is *not* in residence?
