Thanks, Annie, but the consensus seems to be that we should from now on report changes at the <./>Curators</.> page.

Hi Count Zero!
Yesterday wasn't actually the first day for the Curators, we'd been working away quietly for about a week and letting the Eds take the credit for any changes.
But yesterday was the first day that we were making the changes in public.
BigAl, Fairydoodler, Sorry I didn't get back to this, but I see that you've got the Credit now anyway.

One more correction needed: Moore has been left in one place where the name should have been changed to Livingston, in the second-last par: "a white-bearded Santa Claus in a sleigh. *Livingston* based his ideas on popular views of Christmas . . ."
I would also humbly suggest that "synonymous with" is less appropriate usage for Hold Nickar vis-a-vis Poseidon than it is for Wotan/Odin. The former pair of deities are less easily lumped as identical than the latter. I would suggest "the Teutonic god, Hold Nickar, corresponding to the Greek god, Poseidon" (under St Nicholas).
And don't you think that the word "referenced" is an abomination that should be quietly replaced? For instance "English texts from the Renaissance mention reindeer antlers being displayed during Christmas festivities" (under Flying Reindeer)?
