Hey FABT,
From someone who grew up in Wales and doesn't speak much of the language Cymru = Wales.
The castles you mention all had something to do with Owain Glyndwr a very important person in Wales' history and they are very spectacular, another great one if you ever visit North Wales again is Harlech Castle, it's a ruin situated on the coast over looking the sea with some fantastic views from the top of it's walls, in the summer they usually have a harpist in what would have been the great hall and the sound is fantastic. If you ever get to Powys, Mid Wales, Powys Castle, which is on the A483 just outside a town called Welshpool is in it's entire splendour and is complete with deer herds and fantastic gardens and is well worth a visit.

The organization responsible for the care of these historic castles and other historic sites in Wales is CADW(pronounced KADOO) which means "to keep."
If you enter "The Castles of Wales" in your browser or a good search engine, it will take you to a superb website, giving beautiful pictures of scores of castles complete with individual historical accounts of each castle. I have yet to see a comparable website to this one anywhere on the World Wide Web. Enjoy!
