You should remove the batteries from your furby while flying, as fellow passengers typically become mildy irate when the plane drops out of the sky like a stone and creates a 200-foot long trench through the middle of an unsuspecting town. There's nothing worse than stumbling, dazed, from the wreckage of a massive plane crash only to have the other survivor give you the disapproving scowl of a lifetime.

This is not usually a problem when crossing large oceans, however, as the chance of stumbling, dazed, from a splashdown is minimal.
