Knight's movement

Post 1

dysprosia

>The distance between the centre of the square the Knight leaves and the square where it arrives is the square root of five times the width of the squares.

A comma would be pertinent between five and times, but still, this formula described is still inaccurate, as a knight could be at any one position on the chess square, and be at a different one on it's arrival at it's new square.

Neat crumb men

Yes the comma is needed but it's not inaccurate, as it measures from the centre to the centre of the squares, regardless of the knight's position within the square.

But I don't see the knight as 'leaping over' other pieces; rather he sidles between them at a 30 degree angle.
