My mum has an inventive way of making a traditional Christmas pudding. Instead of placing the pudding mxture of Olde Englishe variety into a pudding size dish, she instead makes a homemade icecream - much like italian gelati, with glace cherries and fruits in it. She coats the pudding bowl with melted chocolate, lets it set, then pours the gelati in and freezes it a week before xmas (she places a little sprig of plastic holly at the bottom of the bowl before pouring in the melted chocolate also).

Then, come Christmas Day the pudding bowl is upended and there stands and ice-cream Christmas Pud, holly on top n all!! We don't tend to pour sherry on it and set fire to it though...
