on my first med cruise, in the us navy in 1961, i had liberty in palma, majorka. i was a new ensign and fascinated by all that i saw and experienced. on passing a small restaurant i noticed a sign in the window advertising "steak and eggs" i thought it was a little peculiar but then noticed, in a window furthur down, another sign with two crossed union jacks and an anchor. both signs were yellowed and fly specked and i suddenly realized that i was not the first naval officer to come that way.
