The Tetris Limit

It is worth noting that in "Tetris DX" made for the Nintendo GameBoy Color, there is a limit to the speed at which the game will play.
During normal play the game begins at level "0". For every ten lines removed by the player, the level advances by one and gameplay accelerates by a programmed degree.
However, the level counter will never advance beyond "30". Upon completing 310 lines in a normal game, one would expect the counter to advance to "31" and the gameplay to accelerate once again. Instead the rate of play remains exactly the same from this point on, and while the "lines" counter continues to advance, the "level" counter remains in place, at "30".
