Nature in Poetry

3 Conversations

I look to the oceans,
and in there I see
starlight on the water
calling out to me.

I look to the mountains,
and in them I feel
the wonder of great majesty
in all that is real.

I look to the forests,
and in them I know
that where life is all encompassing,
in there, peace may grow.

I look to the rivers,
and in them I believe,
to shape the contours of the land,
stalwart stone to reave.

I look to the cities,
and for them I fear,
in their rotten, crooked ways,
see Man's end draw near.

I look to my God,
and find salvation there,
His mercy washes clean my heart,
guides me home with care.
