Oddity of the Week - Goblins versus Politicians

0 Conversations

Are the goblins out to get the politicians? Dare we hope?

This material is not for the faint-hearted. You have been warned.

Halloween at the Governor's Manse

Halloween decorations at the Governor's Mansion, Carson City, Nevada.

Do your Halloween decorations look like this? Of course not, unless you live in a Federal-styled mansion. But the governor of Nevada does (it's in his/her contract). So the staff might as well make the best of it. Carol Highsmith took the photo for the Library of Congress.

Note the tombstone. Very droll. Tombstone – the town – is in Arizona. But that's not that far away. And Nevada's known for its strange architecture. After all, Las Vegas is there.

At this time of year, many, many Americans may wish the goblins would come and get those politicians, anyway. But until that happens, we'll all enjoy the candy, quaint jack-o-lanterns, and merrymaking.

Wooo-ooo!
