An American Christmas Card

Prang's Christmas Cards

The Father of the American Christmas Card was born in Breslau, Silesia. Louis Prang, a mid-19th-century lithographer, popularised the Christmas card genre in 1874. This luscious illustration comes from 1886.

Frankly, our response to this image of prancing re-enactors under the mistletoe is, 'What was he thinking?' Still and all, it's colourful. Maybe your favourite LOTR fan would like one.

Merry Christmas, everybody!
