I can't see any differences between the originals and back-ups and the word counts on both sets of articles seems exactly the same . When this project was last discussed (F48888?thread=?thread=7617099) and I stated that I didn't think David B had started doing any work on the project, he didn't deny it. So sadly I don't think he actually did.
I am happy for him to get an 'Additional Sub Editing' credit if you think it appropriate, though.

Thanks, GB. Since David B does not appear to have done any sub-editing on the project, there's no need to give him a credit.

Let me know when you're working on this one, Gnomon, as there have been a couple of changes since I wrote it.
Last week, the Hockley Viaduct cycleway was declared open by local Gold-winning Olympic cyclist Danni King (they'd not done anything there for years, but as soon as an Olympic Cyclist says that she wishes they'd improve the cycleway, suddenly they do..)
The other main difference is that Southampton City Council had not granted Southampton City Council permission to build a cyclepath through Riverside Park. Consequently, the old route away from the canal has been removed and fenced off, forcing cyclists to now cycle along the path next to the canal. This uneven path is unlit, has no fences to stop people falling into the canal, and in winter frequently floods, making it very difficult to tell where the canal begins and path ends. (The old path was quite a distance away from the canal itself and didn't flood). It has made cycling home in the dark quite interesting on occasion...
Thanks for that, Southampton City Council.
