I'm trying to put together a definitive list here: https://twitter.com/#!/Mr603/h2g2/members

If you're on Twitter, let me know your user name!

(Also, if Happy Nerd is watching, follow that list using TweetDeck!)

Actually.

No.smiley - smiley

And, more importantly, if somehow you figure out where I am on twitter, please consider this a formal request to never put me on such a list.smiley - smiley

Exactly the same goes for me.

It's to do with a part of my life that has no connection with h2g2...but to with being an artist in this community in real life.

I'd be cross if I suddenly found myself on such a list.

I can't remember my twitter name, but it is something obvious like 'Gnomon'. Might be 'Gnomon42'.

Thanks anhaga. Really. If you didn't want to get involved with people on Twitter, you could've just not mentioned having an account. But I suppose it's a bit more important to make a statement, eh?

Effers, don't worry about it - I know you're a bit iffy with mixing up h2g2 and non-h2g2 stuff, so no offence taken. smiley - ok

Everyone else, cheers very much. I'll add you all forthwith - it's for some of the Comms work that we're doing to get the message out there.

Some here know me on Twitter. I wanted to let you know that I didn't want to be on such a list just in case a well-intentioned person offerred you my handle.

Sorry if I touched some sort of nerve.smiley - erm

It's absolutely nothing to do with being 'iffy. It's normal plain respect that people use twitter for all kinds of things...and not everything in one's life has to be to do with h2g2.

No offence was intended. It was plain speaking..because I wouldn't want someone to come across that and just bung me on the list because of the way asumptions were made in the OP.
People can easily access people's email accounts these days...all sorts can happen.

I just want to be sure that my real life privacy is respected to do with things quite apart from this place.

I use different names on different things I'm part of. It's pretty normal practice really. Yes it's a 'community' here...but I use other parts of the web more like tools...not an extension of my social life.

Yup, I wouldn't want my Doctor's.net profile linked to my h2g2 profile. Sadly I use 'Z' for both, so its probably done. But it does mean I have the fairly cool e mail address '[email protected]'.

'iffy' is shorthand for "not comfortable for understandable privacy reasons". It's a slang thing. smiley - biggrin

Yes z well maybe you've never experienced what it can feel like if someone can rip into another part of your life and cause havoc.

We are all very different sorts of people here with different psychologies and emotional vulnerabilities, and histories.

But I'll shut up or the mental illness gibes might start up again.

Lots of people choose to compartmentalise, and that's fine smiley - ok. I think that Mr 603 was wanting to connect those that don't.
