Have *you* ever mislaid a family member?
I once left my 2 month old baby sister in her pram outside the local butchers for over an hour. I'd gone home and totally forgotten about her. On the plus side, there was over £20 in change in the pram when I rushed back
So - any husbands left on the train, grannies left on a park bench, girlfriends left on the shelf?

I was about to answer, but I can't remember what I was going to say now.
What was the question again?

Have *you* ever mislaid a fam... hold on, didn't I already ask this?
Are you forgetful?
Geggs Posted Jun 11, 2012
Sorry. Just clicked in the thread to answer, but then discovered that I already had. Don't mind me.
Now, where was I?

No, never left any actual family members. Keys in the door, cards in the ATM, yes, children no.

The 'man left wife at service station' story crops up regularly:

But is it forgetfulness?

If Cameron spent more time with his family he'd be less likely to forget them.

Ah yes, I just thought of something relevant to add...
No, it's gone. Sorry.

I've forgotten my bank card a few times including in the bank...
and I've come home to find the keys waiting for me in the lock
I don't forget when he is with me but i often forget when he has gone to stay at grandmas and I expect to see him in his bed asleep at night, it's a rather disconcerting feeling

I once left my keys in the car with the motor running and the lights on while I was in the supermarket. I was lucky: it was only a mile from home, so I walked home for the spare key.

Is there a way to prevent the phenomenon of going into a room and forgetting why you went there?
Are you forgetful?
The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Posted Jun 11, 2012
Yes - forgetting to go into the room!

we once piled into the truck with our 2 year old daughter and went off to town...
remembering a half a mile down the road that we had left our 2 month old son
still in his carrier in the kitchen...
we came back in and there he was happily kicking away and punching air
i think sometimes you just get so exhausted with a new baby...

I locked my 2month old in the car, with the keys inside. Engine was off, luckily. Her dad took a taxi to come with the spare key.
I was a wreck for the rest of the day... So much for making a good impression on the first play date with other mothers from Sweden, in far away Maryland.

milla! isn't that the way it always happens!!
reminds me of my car key problem...
it was so bad that i actually locked myself out in the middle of a pizza delivery run...
i had to start wearing a copy around my neck...
and, of course, the only times i ever locked myself out were when i forgot to wear it...
i actually still have the problem...

I bought a thing with a clip, so I always clipped my car keys to my pants when I was driving - and stopped using the button to lock the car... It's ok now, but it was a horrible day! Luckily she mostly slept, then we played peek-a-boo for what felt like an hour, before we could open the car.
Another thing I did; at work, there was a hot water dispenser, and tea bags, but also sometimes someone would make a pot of tea. So, I poured myself a cup of tea. And put a teabag in it.
I constantly forget things, and mix things up.

has anyone ever poured a cup of coffee and put a teabag in int?
Are you forgetful?
swl Posted Jun 11, 2012
No, but I've made a cup of instant coffee perfect in every way except I forgot to boil the kettle.
