Me and my Spoon, by Bambos Georgiou

Greetangs fellow fans of the Guide! Below you will find a tale of mystery, magic and enchantment, without an advert asking you to buy creams for funny toadstools that you sometimes find on your foot. As my friend James says: This is the gab. I have the gift of it :).

My name is Bambos. Please don't ask me to spell out my full name, because it is in my experience that the only people who actually find the particulars of my full name intersting are persons who have had too much to drink. I live in the UK, and I am currently in my final year of reading Law at the University of Kent at Cantebury. My main interests are: Reading, which includes anything political (mainly dissenting (e.g.Chomsky) or satirical (Private Eye etc) works), comical, fantastic or classical which does not include reworkings of an old legend by ignorant american writers whose command of the english language is about as strong as that of David Beckham i.e. Steven Presfield (please note that I do not wish to paint all american writers with the same brush); (Watching) Football, especially Arsenal; Music, which involves singing (Baritone, v. badly when the need for a cold takes me), playing (Guitar and Violin) and listening to it (mainly alternative and some dance music, although I do listen to a wide variety of classical music and "Poppy" trash); And also includes that well known student activity of "socialising with your friends". Fortunately I have also been sucked into the crrrazy world of the Music Society committee here at Kent, currently occupying the coveted position of social secretary! Fellow music lovers beware, you will be corrupted ;)!

I first started reading the Hitch Hicker books when I was in my 3rd year of secondary school. Being quite an adept reader, I finished the first four books in a week and a half (who needs work?), but I was completely put off by Mostly Harmless. The anticlimax was too much (it reminded me too much of what might have happened if Darth Vader shot down Luke Skywalker in Star Wars!), and I didn't even look at another Douglas Adams book for at least five years.
Then, I started to listen to the radio series of THGTTG, and became absolutely besoted with it again. Having read all the books again (barring Mostly Harmless), I decided to look for an earth version of this most esteemed organ. And after much searching (well, a google search, but hey!) I've found it!

That will be all for now. Hopefully I will be back with an interesting article in the near future.

Power to this Organ!

Bambos =)

P.S. In order to justify the title which I have chosen:

Spoons, aren't they great? You can scoop up runny stuff like soup and milk and truffle coated chocolates with them!
