Hello Tav
As you probably know I've volunteered to do more for the artists and am now able to upload things, just want to check on when I do uploading before I get started. I'm assuming that I only upload stuff once it's been moved to 'Ready for Uploading' on Trello by a legitimate person, and then say in the Trello conversation what I've called it?
Is there anything more to it or that I should know than that?

Yes, you upload things that are moved to 'ready for uploading' and check in the thread/card that you upload the right picture. And name it correctly. Apart from the _promo and _FP thing it's also important to choose names that are unique because if you by chance name a picture exactly like an older picture it gets overwritten (I'm always slightly scared of that).
Once you have uploaded something you post the names of the pictures in the thread and move the card to 'ready for publishing'.

Okay - so first step ALWAYS check that a filename hasn't been used before. Check.
Couple more questions:
Do they have to be .jpg or are we allowed to upload other stuff, such as .gif etc?
Also, if I, say, wrote something for The Post which I'd like an illustration for, could I upload the image for that, or do you want me to stick strictly to only upload stuff approved through the Trello process? (Obviously I would always submit all pictures for the Edited Guide through Trello).

I don't always check the filenames, but choose names that are extremely unlikely to appear twice. Mostly names that describe the picture in a way.
We use .jpg, only sometimes a different file slips through.
The Post is a completely different thing. Dmitri uploads them himself. If you write something you can upload your pictures and tell the file names to Dmitri so he doesn't have so much work.

I've tried uploading a couple of things and it's gone a little wrong. The only thing I can think of that caused the problem is the use of a ' in the comments box.
Is this a problem?

It didn't upload when I had an ' in the Description / Tagging box, but worked when I deleted it.
Can I just check - did you draw The Bird?
