My daughters' new school building was officially opened yesterday by the Minister for Education and Science. Community schools, because they're not fee-paying, don't limit their entrants and provide a lot of care for less able students, have a reputation for not being suitable for the more gifted children. In his speech, the Minister cited daughter El by name as a proof that these schools can teach clever children just as much as the slower students.

There was an opening ceremony, then a religious ceremony in which El played cello and Iz sang in the choir. After the ceremonies and speeches, Iz went to the science lab and demonstrated experiments to any interested parents.
