I'm a little confused by the different spellings of "Spectre" "Specter". In one paragraph you have both, I wonder if you'd check that's correct? The one which begins:
"The plot of The Specter of the Rose is almost as simple as that of the ballet:"
and ends with
"although the ballerina died onstage during a performance of Le Spectre de la Rose. To make things worse, Sanine has eloped with the next ballerina to play the part..."

Hi, GB. I've just read it through, and it looks right.
I spelled the ballet 'Spectre de la Rose', because that's its title. I spelled the film 'Specter of the Rose', because that's the way the film company spelled it, being American. Is that all right?
