Shall I tell you a story to pass the time? Or maybe express my newfound love of The Kinks! Ha ha. I was checking ye olde friendes liste and reading a few old conversations. It's funny that there was ever a time when I didn't know completely who the Kinks were. I only have a CD of singles by them though, so I only know them the famous way. But yes, I have now gone through (and not come out the other side) of the Kinks phase and persistently have Lola stuck in my head at work, much to the exasperation of my poor colleagues who must hear me spell out "cola" and "lola" over and over and over...

Hi, I've travelled the world and ended up back here. I went abroad for half a year, the bummed about without a computer for another half a year, but now, I'm back and loving it. I also love the Kinks, they just had some genius songs, didn't they?

I've recently returned to my beloved home country too. It has turned out not to be as beloved as I'd hoped though. It sucks having culture shock in your own home. I'm going travelling too! Next year for a year. Starting in the US then Europe. Living as cheaply as possible, sleeping on the floor in small rooms with 50 other strangers - soooo excited!
It would be awfully good for me to try living without a computer, but I think I'd suffer some uber withdrawal symptoms first.
They're terrific. My hair has finally grown out again so I'm enjoying swinging it around to "All Day and All of the Night" and "You Really Got Me." I was discussing them with a friend though and we agreed that they're very very awesome, but not so good to listen to in concentrated bouts, better in mixes. I've been getting into a lot of indie though recently - much prettiness in none-commercial music. But I'm avoiding the whole "indie community" - scary territorial people.

Yeah, they can be aggressively independent can't they, but then they aren't driven by the same thing WestLife is and that's got to be a good thing.
