Just caught this on another site -

If users continually try to circumvent the filter then those accounts will be banned.

Straight and to the point.

All I really expect in moderation issues is consistency and communication. If the rules here said "Three spelling mistakes and you're on pre-mod" that would be fair enough if it applied evenly to all. Hootoo site, hootoo rules.

Seems harsh to me, but you're right. A clear policy is vital if you're moderating any website.

Does this mean the beatings will continue ?

Until morale improves, yes

If they're talking of getting 200,000 users here, they need to keep the rules v. simple, non-negotiable and be prepared to tell people to off.

This seems like as good a place as any to bring this up.
