Halloween today 311002

I don't care! I set no store by Halloween and see it as just part of the creeping Americanisation of society... There was a couple last year who announced the birth of their daughter 'On Independence Day' (presumably July 4th.) How meaningless!
Last night, we went to the paid performance of Alice in Wonderland, with Jim as the Red King. Superb! The dress rehearsal on Tuesday night was a sorry mess, but great fun! Several people had no idea of their lines. But everyone did well last night, and Jim says they were told they’ll all have passed NCEA assessment for the performance, at least on the technical side. We gave Vaugh-han a lift home to East Street (what a wonderful place to live!) and went to Mickey D’s, as we’d done on Tuesday. A wonderful night.
Garth will be picking Jim up at 20.30 hrs, and I hope the performance tonight is as good as last night. Stand outs were Hilary Entwhistle as the Red Queen, Amber Panting as Alice 1, Thomas Watts and Tom Tyer-Drake as the Mock Turtle and the Mad Hatter respectively. (I hope I got that right.)
