Chchch is sad, still shaking from time to time (a 5.5 on Oct 9th the latest significant quake), dust everywhere from demolition which is set to go on for another year at least. CBD still cordoned off, but a wee bit of it was opened yesterday - a 'pop-up' shopping mall on one of our previous main shopping streets.

We are smiling through, but a certain amount of uncertainty about 'what next' hangs over everybody.

Still, spring has sprung and the world around us is bursting into leaf and flower, which is lifting spirits.

The All Blacks winning the rugby had an extraordinary positive response here too I guess we grab good news and hand onto it for all we're worth
