echomikeromeo and her existence
ECHOMIKEROMEO'S PERSONAL SPACE
I used to be quite the h2g2 addict. That was in high school, when this site was my window to the outside world, my way of satisfying my Anglophilia and a chance to talk to people of all different ages, backgrounds and worldviews. I was a Scout, a Sub-editor, an UnderGuide volunteer, the author of several Edited Entries and, for about a year, the editor of The Post—my favourite former title. I was also (I forget by whom) given the title 'youngest listener of Radio 4', which I expect tells you a little about me.
Real life took over, however, as it does for so many of us hootooers who go off to university. Now I'm a sophomore (second-year) at Princeton University, where I'm studying history, American studies and gender studies. I hope to go to graduate school and someday become a professor; until then, I am a staff writer at Campus Progress, a research assistant, a university library assistant, a blogger and a freelance writer. These days, my main academic, political, cultural, literary, etc. interest is LGBT/queer issues, something which I'm all too happy to discuss (probably ad nauseam) with anyone who gets near me. My favourite pastime is spending hours sitting in my college's dining hall while drinking coffee, talking to friends and reading blogs.
I keep promising to return to h2g2 and write another Entry someday—you don't say goodbye to a major part of your life just like that—but until then, I have a blog, a Twitter stream and a Facebook, and I'd be delighted to see you there. (If you friend me on Facebook, just send me a note with your h2g2 username, as I reject friend requests from strangers.)
I check h2g2 periodically, but if you really need to get in touch with me, email is probably a better bet. It's a pleasure to meet you!
