John Prescott hasn't approved it yet, so if like most people that have seen the design you, don't like it,
there is still time to complain.

As far as I know there are conservation sites both sides of Tower Bridge - each bascule is in a different one. I've just lent my book to my dad, so I can't check it - the book's a bit old, but I could look the details up on the net (or ask a friend who works there).

That doesn't change the fact that these tower's are planed
At the public inquiry they were trying to suggest that the steel cylindrical towers
Were in keeping with the conservation area,becouse the close clustering of the towers
Was similar two the narrow alleyways in Shad Thames.
That's stretching the suspension of disbelief a bit far.
