Jazz

Jazz is a type of music that originated in the USA in the early 1900's. It is often refered to as swing, big band, and quite a few other names. There is no one set of instruments that form a jazz band. The various instruments in a jazz band can vary greatly. The most common configuration, however, is saxophones, trombones, trumpets, a drum set, a piano, and a string bass.

Recently, there has been a revival of a specific type of jazz band known as swing. New bands, such as Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy, play fast swing tunes, while audience members swing dance. This Neo-Swing is slightly different than the music of the old big bands. The music is a little bit livelier and there are less people in the band. I'll write more later.
