The h2g2 Poem

1 Conversation

Burns Night (January 25)

Ode to a bard who has fallen so low,

The memory forgotten unto some woe.

A monument destroyed by fire and crime -

All that's now left is a pile of grime

Ode to a poet with a sonnet or two.

Now you're long dead what's in it for you?

A haggis and neaps, tatties and a dram

Does anybody still give a damn?

What has happened to the Nations' bard?

Sometimes I wonder if they ever cared.

There's nothing left now to honour your work,

In the town it all started they just turn and smirk

smiley - rosesmiley - rosesmiley - rose
