The following site describes the mines and mineralisation in the Teign Valley.

Interestingly the mines include Lead (Pb), Barium (Ba), Manganese (Mg), Iron (Fe), And a few other minerals. Only one mine "might" have been Copper (Cu) - Wheal Anna Maria.

I did not realise that such a variety of minerals were mined in the area.

The mine names include a number of "Wheal" names - such as Wheal Lawrence and Wheal Exmouth, as well as Wheal Anna Maria mentioned above. Clearly the "Wheal" names were not limited to tin mines, or even copper.
