Uncle Sam is the name. And I want you to comment on my page and leave me a message.
Yes, I am an American, living in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Carlisle was named for a town in England that was founded by Romans. It's interesting to me that an American town can be named after a walled city from the heyday of the Roman Empire. When you think about it, nationalism can be very silly.
I have been called a Yank, a damn Yank and a stoopid American here on h2g2. But I'm partial to that fine Cockney Rhyming Slang term Septic Tank1.
I find nationalism extremely ironic!
