Doildums
Created | Updated Sep 2, 2003
Wingspan about 15m and weight of about 200kg they are nearly the largest birds on earth (The Albatrosses win by a nose length).
The colouring is extraordinary, they have a silver color on their back and polarising blue on their belly.
Their wings have quill-feathers over the whole length, the feathers near the body overlapping their tail. The contour shape is like a half circle the beak near the center.
The female carries the egg in her belly pocket, you can see it while the only doildum having something like a belly is a female carrying an egg.
They feed mainly on air plankton, the tiny insects and seeds travelling the jetstream.
Oh yes, I nearly forgot to tell you: "They NEVER come down."
