By mistake on a sleepy spring night

I am not sure I wanted to write this,
but I set pen to paper and these words
sprang forth.
Very well, what comes unbidden shall
leave unbidden
This is no art,
Today I shall not reflect the lights in my window
No midnight air ships through me
Today I shall
create
Unforgotten worlds I have never been to
Unbuilt homes I thought I slept in
Unsaid words I thought I spoke
Have I?
Paradoxes I shall document
contradictions mayhaps
Truths and untruths together will dance
in unseemly matrimony
Who cares? Not me.
The pen has no voice, and will not protest –
only me
and I will play a game with you
seek me, seek me
seek what I make tonight, and tell me whether
it’s me
that I have made, or have you found
glimpses, as if through prison bars,
of the game I have played
my mind curling brushing slipping
through
yours?
would you be mad? would you make
love to me?
will you run? will I leave you anywhere to hide?
or will you pick up pen and play
the game with me?
And make
me stop
writing?
