The h2g2 Poem

1 Conversation

Where Art Thou?

Where are you?

I call I scream,

And yet your voice I never seem

To hear in reply

And so I let out a sigh.

I miss my friends my companions dear

But I want to run away when they are near.

I see the sun up in the sky

And then I wonder why.

There's this guy whom I love

I feel he watches from somewhere above.

If only I could tell him so

But I know it's a place we would never go.

Sometimes I feel like crying

But I've never felt like dieing

For when the chips are up

And spirits are running low

I look to my muse always

To tell me where to go.

A chill runs down my arms

As I write the poem now

I can't seem to focus.

So instead I frown

The light oh from the window

Starts to hurt my head

Maybe I should give up and go back to bed.

But alas here is better, warmer anyway,

Even in my thoughts I can't seem to get away

Fleeting chills, rarer warmth,

What am I on about?

I miss the time when we were together

But now its too late

Nothing lasts forever.

Where art thou to show me how

To cheer up when I need you now.

There's ice flowing through my veins

I am not absent from life's pains.

Even poets need to weep a while

But I like to think even then we show style.

I can't rhyme forever more

But I will stand now at your door.

Please help me to understand

Can't you show me how to land?

Upon the earth 'tis so hard

But, like life, it's but a shard

Of a puzzle never seen

What has come or what has been.
